ValuCard Limited is an innovative new company specialising in the design, development and management of cutting-edge, world-class “stored value” software for the Jamaican and Caribbean market. The company’s mission is to provide businesses with opportunities to maximise market share and profits through the use of Point of Sale (POS) terminals geared to enhancing product delivery and customer satisfaction. ValuCard Limited was formed in November 2001, and is the result of an independent partnership between Alliance Investment – investment bankers, and IMEX Technologies – developers of Internet and software products. As a natural spin-off of this synergy, ValuCard Limited enjoys the benefits of business/finance management expertise and superior technological knowledge, which combine to provide clients with immediate results and long-term solutions that are highly competitive and cost-effective. The company has combined its first world knowledge of Internet technology with POS stored value applications to develop products for retailers that are designed to increase sales and profitability. Clients are provided with the option to internally manage and operate the stored value component of their businesses, or to outsource management of the product/service to ValuCard Limited. The Texaco ValuCard is the first in a series of stored value products to be rolled out by the company. The new prepaid/credit card is offered by Texaco Caribbean Inc. (Jamaica) to individuals and companies for purchasing fuel and other motor vehicle related items, and is backed by a sophisticated fleet management programme (with global access) for business clients. Management and operations for the Texaco ValuCard are handled by ValuCard Limited. Other ValuCard products are currently being developed for major local corporations, and are slated to come on stream during late 2004 / early 2005.
